As a career management practitioner and a Licensed Immigration Adviser, Alyson brings to CDL more than twenty years’ experience in conducting Initial Occupational Assessments and Vocational Independence Occupational Assessments for ACC, ACC Accredited Employers and Insurance Companies.

Collaborative and outcome-focused, Alyson also facilitates vocational rehabilitation coaching programmes and provides career information and advice to individuals across multiple industry sectors and at varied levels of seniority.

Alyson has liaised extensively with recruitment providers, training providers, universities and employers on labour market trends and education and training options.

As a Manager, Alyson has developed selection methods, selected staff and conducted performance appraisals. She has assessed applicants against job descriptions made available by employers. Alyson worked closely over time with the Employment and Vocational Guidance Service within the Department of Labour, now Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

Alyson has extensive career counselling and coaching skills and was a teaching assistant within the School of Psychology at Massey University. She is currently a Licensed Immigration Advisor, a Professional Member of the Career Development Association of New Zealand (CDANZ) and is a Registered Test User with the New Zealand Council for Educational Research.

Alyson has a Bachelor of Arts, a Graduate Diploma of Arts (Psychology), and a Post Graduate Diploma of Arts (Psychology). In 2015 Alyson was awarded a Masters of Art in Industrial and Organisational Psychology and in 2016 completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation.
