Kate brings a holistic approach to her career counselling and coaching work and is able to use her extensive knowledge of local training institutions, job market and agencies to the benefit of the clients she works with. She enjoys and is able to work well within bicultural and multicultural frameworks.
Holistic, resourceful and client-focussed, Kate combines her wide regional industry and labour market knowledge with significant experience in providing career assessment and job coaching services.
Kate brings to CDL more than ten years’ experience in the field of career consulting following on from a successful career in customer service and case management roles.
Kate has broad experience in case management including needs assessment, preparation of client profiles, client referrals and liaison with employers. She has a proven ability to establish rapport and respectfully work with a wide range of people who are often in difficult or stressful situations. Her focus over recent years has been on career and vocational consulting and assessment.
She has a well – developed knowledge of many psychological and educational tests and is registered with the New Zealand Council for Educational Research to use many of these tools.
Kate has a demonstrated commitment to professional development. She is a current member of the Careers Development Association of New Zealand (CDANZ) along with the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors and the New Zealand Ergonomics Society. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Massey and Post-Graduate Diplomas in Applied Rehabilitation Studies, Ergonomics and Guidance Studies.
