Layla has a Diploma in Transformational Coaching, two Bachelor Degrees from the University of Canterbury, majoring in Psychology and Management, plus more than ten years’ experience in Generalist HR in NZ and the UK.
Supportive, encouraging and future-focused, Layla is passionate about helping to facilitate change, seeing clients formulate a plan for themselves and supporting people to take action and achieve their goals. She believes it is important to create an environment where the person feels safe before any real change can happen.
Layla has extensive experience in the facilitation of in-house workshops that focus on resilience, performance management, development plans, training managers to coach their staff, increasing engagement, reducing absenteeism, improving communication, giving feedback and other management and leadership issues.
Layla is open, perceptive and creative in her coaching and facilitation style and as an Accredited Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) administrator and facilitator, is highly skilled at incorporating personality preferences into leadership, developmental and outplacement coaching programmes and workshops.
Layla has also spent three years employed as a ‘resolution co-ordinator’ which involved coaching and providing resolution options to staff experiencing diverse workplace challenges. She has also co-facilitated a series of community workshops for business start-ups.
On a personal level, Layla regularly teaches yoga, piano and performs as a DJ and Saxophonist. In 2016 Layla moved to Greymouth and is CDL’s Associate Coach and Facilitator on the West Coast.
